UKFast City of Salford 10K announces charity partners

The UKFast City of Salford 10K has partnered with three charities for its annual running event at MediaCityUK, 3rd September 2017.

The Christie, Cash For Kids and The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation will be the designated charities for this year’s event, giving the runners a number of worthy good causes to consider running and raising funds for.

The event takes place on Sunday 3rd September where over 3,500 runners are expected to take on the 10K route which takes in some of the most iconic landmarks in the area, including MediaCityUK, Imperial War Museum, the set of Coronation Street and Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club.

Kevin Harmer, UK Events and Sponsorship Manager said;

“Sports Tours International is delighted to be working with three key charities in the region, giving them additional exposure of their good work and a platform to promote their key objectives. Sport plays a massive part in charitable fundraising and we are really pleased to be working with charities that are working to help a number of different people in need”.

 

Claire Ferguson, Fundraising Coordinator at The Christie charity added; 

“We are delighted to be one of official charity partners of the 2017 UKFast City of Salford 10K and feel honoured to be chosen again. We hope that as many runners as possible will sign up for Team Christie and help support The Christie against cancer.”

“We’re so honoured to be one of the charity partners for this year’s UKFast City of Salford 10K. This event is just amazing to be a part of and it’s great to see UKFast sponsoring it as they do so much for our amazing city.”

 

Diane Modahl, co-founder of DMSF said;

The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation is delighted to be an official charity partner of the UKFast Salford 10K alongside two other fantastic Manchester-based charities. Our passion is to raise the aspirations of young people and give those resources, experience and knowledge that will help them develop into strong confident individuals.”

Since its inception in 2008, the City of Salford 10K has grown in size rapidly and with the help of a number of local businesses and organisations as well as Salford City Council, it continues to be one of the biggest and best mass participation running events in the north west.
